Competition info 2026

There will be 8 club competitions in 2026. Each competition will include a set subject section and an open section. Financial members will be able to choose how they enter. They may enter in both the set subject and the open or in only one of these sections for each competition.

Conditions:
  • Only members who have paid their subscription for the year may enter competitions.
  •  There will be an opportunity to enter up to three images in each competition. However, each member will only be able to enter a maximum of 20 images in a year. This will be monitored.
  • Of the possible 20 images that a member may enter, only a maximum of 12 digital images may be entered. Any further entries must be prints. It is, of course, possible to make as many of your entries prints as you choose.
  •  Images entered in the open section of each competition will score fewer points than those entered in the set subject.
  • Entries on My Photo Club may look a little different in 2026 because of the changes.

There are new requirements for determining the grade that a member is entered in to. Any member in the Intermediate Grade who has 2 Honours or more for their images in a year and an average score of +6 will be moved up to the Advanced Grade. This average score must have been earned by entering at least 6 images over the year.

  • The Novice section has been discontinued. Members who are new / unsure or only wanting feedback can enter the Comments Only grade. Grades will be Advanced, Intermediate and Comments Only for 2026.
